2.ScamShot Does Not Guarantee Safety
No automated system can identify every scam, fraud attempt, phishing message, malicious website, impersonation attempt, or deceptive communication.
ScamShot does not guarantee that any:
- Message
- Person
- Company
- Website
- Phone number
- QR code
- Payment request
- Transaction
- Account
- Offer
- Communication
is safe, legitimate, fraudulent, malicious, or trustworthy.
A Low Risk result does not mean something has been verified as safe.
A High Risk result does not constitute a legal determination that fraud has occurred.
ScamShot provides informational risk assessments based on the information available at the time of analysis.
You remain responsible for your own decisions and actions.
3.No Professional Advice
ScamShot does not provide:
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Investment advice
- Tax advice
- Medical advice
- Law-enforcement advice
- Credit advice
- Insurance advice
- Professional cybersecurity consulting
Information provided through ScamShot is general informational guidance only.
You should seek qualified professional assistance where appropriate.
4.Emergency and Time-Sensitive Situations
If you believe you have already:
- Sent money to a scammer
- Shared a password
- Shared financial information
- Shared a verification code
- Installed remote-access software
- Had an account compromised
- Been threatened
- Experienced identity theft
- Experienced unauthorized transactions
you should take appropriate immediate action through official channels.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include contacting:
- Your bank or card issuer
- The relevant online service
- A trusted cybersecurity professional
- Local law enforcement
- An appropriate fraud-reporting authority
Do not rely on ScamShot as the sole means of responding to an active fraud or cybersecurity incident.
5.Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ScamShot.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use ScamShot only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.
We may modify age requirements if certain features become subject to additional legal restrictions.
6.Accounts
Some ScamShot features require an account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain the confidentiality of your credentials
- Use reasonable security measures
- Notify us if you suspect unauthorized account use

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

- Share your account in ways that bypass subscription limits
- Sell or transfer your account
- Impersonate another person
- Create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes
7.Authentication Providers
ScamShot may support authentication through services such as:
- Apple
- Email/password authentication
Third-party authentication services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Your use of those services is also subject to the provider's applicable terms.
8.User Content
"User Content" means information you submit to ScamShot, including:
- Images
- Screenshots
- Messages
- URLs
- Documents
- Questions
- Family messages
- Scam reports
- Other submitted materials
You retain your ownership rights in User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant ScamShot a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to:
- Process it
- Store it where required
- Analyze it
- Display it back to you
- Share it with users you explicitly authorize
- Use it to operate the Services
- Generate risk assessments
- Improve fraud-detection functionality
- Derive de-identified or aggregated threat indicators
This license exists only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide, secure, operate, improve, and support the Services.
9.Your Responsibility for Submitted Content
You are responsible for the content you submit.
You represent that you have the right to submit the content or otherwise have a lawful basis for doing so.
Do not intentionally submit:
- Material you have no lawful right to provide
- Unnecessary highly sensitive information
- Illegal content
- Malware
- Content intended to attack ScamShot infrastructure
- Content intended to exploit other users
- Content designed primarily to manipulate or abuse the AI system
ScamShot may restrict or remove access where necessary to protect users or the Services.
10.AI Processing
ScamShot uses artificial intelligence to analyze User Content.
AI-generated results may:
- Be incomplete
- Be inaccurate
- Misclassify legitimate communications
- Fail to identify sophisticated scams
- Contain incorrect assumptions
- Miss contextual information
You should independently verify important requests using official contact information.
For example, if a message claims to be from a bank, government agency, delivery company, or other organization, do not rely solely on contact information provided in the suspicious message.
11.Prohibited Uses
You may not use ScamShot to:
- Commit fraud
- Assist scams
- Develop phishing campaigns
- Improve malicious social-engineering content
- Harass or threaten others
- Circumvent security controls

15.Fair-Use Limits
Paid plans may be marketed as allowing unlimited ScamShots.
To prevent abuse, fraud, automated misuse, or unreasonable infrastructure consumption, ScamShot may apply reasonable fair-use limits.
These limits are intended to affect abusive or unusually high-volume usage rather than ordinary personal use.
We may temporarily restrict or review accounts exhibiting automated, abusive, or excessive activity.
16.Mobile Subscriptions
Subscriptions purchased through the mobile application are generally processed by:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play
Subscription-management technology may be provided through RevenueCat.
Payment, renewal, refund, cancellation, and billing rules may also be governed by the applicable app store.
You authorize the applicable platform to charge the payment method associated with your account.
17.Automatic Renewal
Unless otherwise stated, paid subscriptions automatically renew until canceled.
Your subscription may renew for the same duration as your current subscription period.
To avoid renewal, you must cancel through the applicable app store before the renewal date in accordance with that store's requirements.
ScamShot does not control Apple or Google billing timing.
18.Canceling Your Subscription
You can manage or cancel your subscription using the subscription-management tools provided by:
- Apple App Store
- Google Play
Deleting the ScamShot application does not cancel your subscription.
Deleting your ScamShot account also may not cancel a subscription billed through Apple or Google.
You are responsible for separately canceling the subscription through the applicable store if you no longer wish to be billed.
19.Refunds
Refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google are generally handled under the applicable store's policies.
ScamShot may not have the ability to directly issue refunds for transactions processed by those platforms.
You may need to request a refund directly from Apple or Google.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
20.Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing in the future.
Where required, Apple, Google, or ScamShot may provide advance notice of applicable price changes.
Changes will not override rights provided by applicable law or app-store rules.
21.ScamShot Family Privacy
Family membership does not automatically provide access to another member's complete ScamShot history.
Scans are intended to remain private unless explicitly shared.
Users are responsible for choosing what they share with Family members.
If you share a ScamShot with another person, that person may be able to view the information you chose to share.
Do not share sensitive information with someone you do not trust.
22.Family Communications
ScamShot Family may allow discussion threads related to shared ScamShots.
These threads are intended for scam-related assistance, not as a general messaging platform.
You agree not to use Family messaging for:
- Harassment
- Threats
- Illegal activity
- Spam
- Abuse
We may restrict Family features where misuse occurs.
23.Scam Alerts and Threat Intelligence
ScamShot may provide alerts about emerging scam campaigns.
These alerts may be based on:

- Internal detection logic
Scam campaigns change quickly.
ScamShot does not guarantee that alerts are complete, current, or applicable to every user.
24.Reporting Scams
ScamShot may allow users to report suspected scams.
Submitting a report to ScamShot does not necessarily report the scam to:
- Police
- Government agencies
